Beth Tigay has taught in independent schools in the Los Angeles area for fourteen years. During her career as an educator, she has developed and taught writing, reading, social studies and health curricula, and she has served as a mentor teacher. She currently serves as the Middle School Dean and the Chair of the Humanities Department. Mrs. Tigay earned her Bachelor's of Arts degree in English Literature from University of California in Los Angeles and completed classwork for her Masters in Education at Pepperdine
University.
Mrs. Tigay grew up immersed in the written word; her parents, both writers, owned a bookstore, where she spent much of her free time. She loves the challenge of fostering the love of history, reading, and writing in her students. Mrs. Tigay lives in West Los Angeles with her husband and two daughters.
