Dimitri Hodgkinson graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ithaca College. Upon graduating, he pursued his childhood dream of becoming a professional athlete and earned a modest, but exciting, opportunity to play and coach basketball in Oslo, Norway. While in Norway, Mr. Hodgkinson developed enthusiasm for his future teaching career by coaching boys and girls basketball teams of all ages, working part-time as a middle school physical education teacher, being a mentor for at-risk youth and directing the “Reach Out” Program, a sports and social education program for
middle school students.
Mr. Hodgkinson is excited to be teaching Pre-Algebra and Algebra I, as well as serving as an advisor at the middle school. He is honored to be a part of the talented faculty and vibrant school community at Milken and looks forward to providing a challenging and fun classroom environment for students. Prior to joining the faculty at Milken, Mr. Hodgkinson taught middle school Algebra and Pre-Algebra at Chatsworth Hills Academy, as well as Physical Education at the Oakwood School.
In addition to teaching, Mr. Hodgkinson continues coaching basketball at the high school and club levels. He was the Head Girl’s Varsity Basketball Coach at Oakwood for three seasons, coaching both high school varsity and middle school basketball. He is currently assisting the girls varsity basketball program at Harvard-Westlake and was thrilled to be a part of their CIF Division IV State Championship during the 2009-10 season.
