American Studies (History) presents an integrated survey of the political, social, intellectual, and economic development of the United States from pre-Columbian times to the present. A thematic approach gives students a broad view of the development of democracy in the United States and of the growing role of the United States in world affairs. History content is enhanced by oral presentations, research papers, and required outside readings.
