Jerry Martin began his career in independent schools in 1970, teaching literature and coaching football in La Jolla, California. Subsequently, he has served as director of the middle and upper divisions at the Chadwick School, headmaster of Beaver Country Day School in Boston, Director of Educational Advancement at the Crossroads School, and high school division head at The Blake School in Minnesota.
Mr. Martin served as English Department chair for five years at Milken and in 2004-5 was interim principal of the Middle School. Currently he teaches in the English Department and is Director of Special Projects.
Mr. Martin was raised on a cattle ranch, attended the Webb School of California for grades 9-12, and the Solihull Grammar School in Warwickshire, England as a post graduate student. He graduated from Wesleyan University with a degree in English in 1970. From 1973 to 1975 he pursued advanced degrees in educational administration and English from Stanford University.
Jerry and his wife Joanie, Director of the Elementary School at Crossroads, reside in Mar Vista.
