Welcome

lvalladares.jpgLisette Valladares is excited to be teaching honors geometry and honors calculus in the Upper School this year.  Ms. Valladares graduated cum laude from the University of California in Los Angeles, where she earned her BS in Applied Mathematics, before returning for her Master's degree.

Upon graduation, she worked at Hughes Aircraft Company as a computer programmer, where she created and adapted computer programs in FORTRAN and C++.  Ms. Valladares later earned her single-subject teaching credential from National University in 2005.

Before coming to Milken Community High School, Ms. Valladares was a mathematics teacher at The Archer School for Girls, where she was also Math Department Chair and Scheduling Director. During her five years at Archer, she taught all levels of mathematics, from sixth grade through calculus.

This is Ms. Valladares' 11th year at Milken Community High School.  Ms. Valladares brings her "real world" knowledge of mathematics in to the classroom, where she happily shares her love of numbers with her students. Outside of school, Ms. Valladares enjoys skiing, gardening and spending time with her two dogs, two cats, two sons, one daughter and her husband.
