Melodie Roden, a Los Angeles native, graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a degree in history. During her third year in college, she spent six months in Taxco, Mexico, studying Spanish and Mexican History. Upon graduation, she moved to Cozumel, Mexico where she lived for three years. While in Mexico, she taught English as a second language and managed a fine jewelry store.
After her three years in Mexico, Ms. Roden spent two months in Western Europe studying Italian before beginning her career as a Spanish teacher at San Pedro High School. Through UCLA extension, she has continued her passion of learning romance languages by studying French and Italian.
Ms. Roden teaches Spanish to both middle and high school students and Chairs the Foreign Language Department. In 2008, she graduated from Pepperdine University with a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. Ms. Roden, her husband Mark and their son Thomas enjoy spending time with family and friends and traveling the world.
