Hello,
My name is Thomas Moran. My field of specialization is non-fiction writing and screenwriting, in which I hold a Masters of Fine Arts. I have taught written, visual, and verbal communication skills for ten years in four quite diverse situations: as an English teacher at Milken Community High School, a private EFL instructor for the directors of Europe’s largest telecom company, as a member of Louisiana State University’s English department in the heart of the South, and as a graduate teaching assistant at a small liberal arts college in the Northeast.
My dual interest in written and visual communications began in Northern New Jersey at Felician College, where I started teaching as a graduate assistant for both the English department and Communications department. It was at Felician that I taught my first freshman composition course, as well as my first introduction to film-making course.
Since those first two courses, my teaching career has been academically, geographically, and culturally diverse. Through all this, two things have remained the same: the students’ inherent desire to be understood, and my commitment to teaching them how to communicate effectively.
I hope you enjoy this course and I look forward to interacting with all of you over the next few months!
Thomas Moran
